On April 18, 2016, J.B. Steel received one of Concord General Contracting 2015 Excellence in Subcontracting Awards for their work on the Westwood High School project in Mesa, Arizona. J.B. Steel provided all of the structural and miscellaneous steel for the project.
On February 20, 2016, J.B. Steel received certification as a Clark County Approved Fabricator – Structural Steel. This program includes annual audits of our quality systems and operations. While focused on Clark County, Nevada, this quality program is widely recognized in the construction industry.
J.B. Steel received the American Institute of Steel Construction 2014 Safety Award of Honor for achieving a Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred (DART) of 0.0 for the fabrication shop and office in 2014.
Nelson Brown, President of J.B. Steel, was newly elected as an ABA board member at the December 2014 board meeting. J.B. Steel is an AISC certified fabricator and erector of structural and miscellaneous steel servicing Arizona. J.B. Steel is now over 90% complete on installation of the unique fin guardrail system at ENR2. Over 8000 fins have been installed on the outside of the building and the interior canyon. Installation of the curved canyon stair has begun.
J.B. Steel has been selected to build the new Tucson Premium Outlets Mall in Marana, Arizona. The scope of work includes nine buildings totaling approximately 360,000 square feet. The project features numerous steel towers and large steel canopies. Over 3 million pounds of steel will be needed for the project.
J.B. Steel’s Structural Steel Fabricator Renewal Application, for listing with the City of Phoenix Approved Steel Fabricator Program, has been approved. J.B. Steel will remain on the City of Phoenix list of Approved Steel Fabricators until the expiration date of the certification on March 31, 2015.
