J.B. Steel’s Structural Steel Fabricator Renewal Application, for listing with the City of Phoenix Approved Steel Fabricator Program, has been approved. J.B. Steel will remain on the City of Phoenix list of Approved Steel Fabricators until the expiration date of the certification on March 31, 2015.
The purpose of designating approved steel fabricators is to encourage Plants to develop approved in-house quality control fabrication procedures and to become certified by one of the following agencies: Clark County, Nevada, Los Angeles California, American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), or some other certification program approved by the Phoenix Building Official. This is an alternative to in plant Special Inspection required by the construction code. Substituting pre-approved steel fabricators for in plant special inspections benefits the public by reducing the overall cost of construction and enhances their safety.
